The October 21 Nordic concert organized by CNS member Costa Kapsalis was by every measure an outstanding success. Sponsored by the Embassy of Finland, Canadian Friends of Finland Ottawa, and the CNS, the concert featured popular Finnish folk songs and classical pieces presented by the Toronto Pelimannit, Trygve Ringereide (tenor), Shawne Elizabeth (soprano), and the Finnish Singers. The wonderful atmosphere that pervaded the concert continued into the reception that followed. With trays of beautiful and delicious treats provided by Ikea Canada, it was convivial and fun. We finally had to send the last stragglers home so we could lock up the church.
